About this treatment

Deep tissue massage works the muscle layer underneath the surface tissue. We use slower strokes, sustained pressure and targeted techniques to release knots that have built up over weeks or months. Particularly effective for clients with desk-job tension, gym-related tightness or chronic shoulder/neck pain.

What to expect

  1. Intake

Detailed conversation about where the tension lives, pressure tolerance, and any injuries.

  2. Targeted work

Therapist concentrates time on problem areas — typically shoulders, lower back, glutes, neck.

  3. Sustained pressure

Deeper than Swedish. You can ask for more or less pressure at any point.

  4. Stretch & finish

Light stretches and lighter strokes to close the appointment.

Aftercare

Lots of water, hot bath, take it easy. Mild soreness for 24–48 hours is normal — the result is felt most clearly on day 2 and 3.

FAQs

How is deep tissue different from Swedish?

Deep tissue uses slower strokes and more sustained pressure to release knots in the muscle layer. Swedish is lighter and more relaxation-focused. Deep tissue can be uncomfortable in the moment but more rewarding the day after.

Will I be sore after deep tissue?

Mild muscle soreness for 24–48 hours is normal — similar to after a heavy gym session. It clears within a day or two and the muscle is genuinely looser afterwards.

Is deep tissue safe if I have an injury?

For most clients, yes. Tell us about any injuries at intake — we'll work around acute injuries and may refer you to a sports therapist for specific rehab work where appropriate.

Ready to book?

Book the 90 if the tension is well established. Hydrate before and after.
