About this treatment

BIAB (Builder In A Bottle) is a soft-flex gel that bonds to the natural nail and adds genuine strength. Unlike gel polish, which sits on top as colour, BIAB protects the nail underneath while it grows. We lead with BIAB at House of Beauty because for clients with weak, splitting or short nails it actually solves the problem rather than masking it.

What to expect

  1. Prep

Soak, file, cuticle care, gentle nail-bed prep.

  2. BIAB application

Sculpting layer applied to each nail, cured under LED, shaped for strength and balance.

  3. Colour or clear

Optional gel polish top, art, or simply the clear builder finish.

  4. Hand massage & finish

Cuticle oil, hand massage, aftercare brief and your next infill in your diary.

Aftercare

Daily cuticle oil is the single biggest factor in how long BIAB stays seamless. Avoid using nails as tools (opening cans, scraping price tags). Always come back to the salon for removal — picking BIAB off takes the top layer of natural nail with it.

FAQs

How long does BIAB last?

BIAB typically lasts 3–4 weeks before needing an infill, with the option of a full re-application every 8–10 weeks. Significantly better chip resistance than standard gel polish.

What's the difference between BIAB and gel polish?

Gel polish is colour only — a polish, not a strengthener. BIAB is a soft-flex gel that adds strength and structure to the natural nail underneath, then can be topped with gel polish for colour. BIAB lasts longer (3–4 weeks vs 2 weeks).

Is BIAB bad for natural nails?

Properly applied and properly removed, no. BIAB is often used by clients to recover damaged nails because the builder layer protects the natural nail while it grows. Damage typically comes from peeling product off rather than the product itself.

How often should I get BIAB infills?

Every 2.5–3 weeks is the sweet spot. We recommend a full removal and re-application every 8–10 weeks to keep the natural nail healthy.

Can you get BIAB on natural nails?

Yes — BIAB is designed to be applied directly to the natural nail. It works particularly well for clients who struggle to grow their nails because the builder layer provides structure while still flexing.
