Unlike gel polish, which sits on top as colour, BIAB protects the nail underneath while it grows. Daily cuticle oil is the single biggest factor in how long BIAB stays seamless. Avoid using nails as tools (opening cans, scraping price tags). Always come back to the salon for removal — picking BIAB off takes the top layer of natural nail with it.
BIAB typically lasts 3–4 weeks before needing an infill, with the option of a full re-application every 8–10 weeks. Significantly better chip resistance than standard gel polish.
Gel polish is colour only — a polish, not a strengthener. BIAB is a soft-flex gel that adds strength and structure to the natural nail underneath, then can be topped with gel polish for colour. BIAB lasts longer (3–4 weeks vs 2 weeks).
