About this treatment

Permanent makeup brows are a semi-permanent pigment treatment that mimics the look of natural brow density. Three techniques: microblading (hair-stroke incisions for the most natural look), ombré (soft powder shading like a pencilled brow), and combination (both techniques layered for the most realistic finish). We confirm the right technique for your skin type at consultation.

What to expect

  1. Consultation

30–45 minutes. We discuss the right technique, take medical history, agree the brow shape, and book the procedure.

  2. Initial session

2.5–3 hours. Topical anaesthetic, brow mapping with calliper measurements, then pigment application. The pigment looks deeper for the first 7 days.

  3. Healing

4–6 weeks while the pigment settles to its final shade. We hand over a full aftercare kit.

  4. Perfecting top-up

1–1.5 hours. We assess the heal, refine the shape and colour, and lock in the final result.

Aftercare

Detailed 7-day protocol given at your appointment. Summary: keep dry for 7 days, no makeup over the brows, apply the supplied balm, no scrubbing or picking the scab, no swimming or saunas for 14 days. The first 7 days drive 80% of how the pigment heals.

FAQs

How long does permanent makeup brow last?

12–18 months for most clients. Skin type, lifestyle and aftercare all affect retention. We recommend an annual refresh to keep the colour true.

What's the difference between microblading and ombré?

Microblading uses fine hair-stroke incisions to mimic individual brow hairs — the most natural finish. Ombré uses pixelated shading for a soft pencilled-in effect, similar to brow powder. Combination uses both.

Does PMU brows hurt?

We use a topical anaesthetic before and during the procedure. Most clients describe the sensation as scratching or pressure rather than pain.

How many sessions do PMU brows need?

Two sessions: an initial appointment and a perfecting top-up 4–6 weeks later. The pigment heals lighter than it looks immediately after — the second session refines colour and shape once you've had time to live with them.

Who isn't suitable for PMU brows?

Clients who are pregnant, breastfeeding, on blood thinners, prone to keloid scarring, or with certain skin conditions. We screen at consultation and will only proceed where it's safe.

Ready to book?

PMU starts with a free consultation. We'll only proceed if it's right for your skin and goals — no pressure on the day.
